Education, School and University

Nationalsozialismus - Erziehung, Schule und Universität

Education policy of the National Socialists

The National Socialist regime soon took control over all institutions concerning education. They had hardly developed own ideas and concepts for the educational system in the German Reich, so schools mostly served the purpose to familiarize pupils with “soldierly” virtues. At many universities, Nazi ideology quickly became a new topic, some professors and researchers even tried to legitimize the racial policies of the Nazi state scientifically.
