Students Take Action Against "Un-German Writing" in Berlin, 1933
Members of the German Students" Association take action against what they considered "un-German thought." In this case, their actions were directed against the Institute of Sexual Research run by scientist Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld. The students effected the closing of the institute and removed numerous books and notes from the library of the institute, declaring that their content was un-German. Books and notes were taken away on trucks and burned in public during the following days.
