Giovanni Agnelli, 1990
Giovanni Agnelli, honorary president of the Italian car company Fiat, died on 24 January 2003, at the age of 81. The patriarch of the Fiat founding family had been president of the Fiat Group for 30 years (1966-1996). He was then appointed honorary president and, until recently, played an important role in the search for a solution to the Fiat crisis. The largest Italian company is heavily in debt.
