American actor Clark Gable (1901-1960) started his career as an extra in silent films, and became a top Hollywood star, appearing in films such as "It Happened One Night" (1934) "Gone With the Wind" (1939), and "The Misfits" (1961). Ava Gardner (1922-1990) appeared in "Show Boat" (1951), "The Barefoot Contessa" (1954), "On the Beach" (1959), and "The Night of the Iguana" (1964).
