Death of Benno Ohnesorg and trial against Fritz Teufel, 1967
In the early summer of 1967 the Persian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi visited the FRG together with his wife, the Shabuna Farah Pahlavi. During their visit, there were student demonstrations, demonstrations between demonstrators and policemen, as well as university-organized protest events. During a demonstration in Berlin on June 2, student Benno Ohnesorg was shot by a police officer and died shortly thereafter in the hospital. During the same demonstration, Fritz Teufel was arrested for policemen and released in December of the same year.
