Romaday Protest - Sinti and Roma
Protest with sign Ohne Erinnerung Keine Zukunft of Sinti and Roma initiatives on occacion of the Romaday Day at the Memorial to the Sinti and Roma of Europe Murdered under Nationalsocialism near the Reichstag in Berlin, Germany. In addition to targeting Jews during the Holocaust, the German National Socialist Regime also sought to exterminate the Roma population in Europe and estimates of the number killed range from 220,000 to 1,500,000. The protesters oppose a suggestion by the Deutsche Bahn to temporarily re-locate or partially shut down the memorial during the planned expansion project of the S-Bahn S21 line near the Reichstag building.
