Tel Aviv is named the White City for its collection of over 4,000 Bauhaus or international style buildings. Tel Aviv has the largest number of buildings of Modern architecture in this style of any city in the world
In 2003 the Bauhaus neighbourhoods of Tel Aviv were placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
